Piston pumps in combination with a water pressure tank together form a hydrophore unit. The setup can be either horizontal or vertical.

Characteristics
Self-priming hydrophore unit
The pump is self-priming and can pump air. Even with a leaky suction line, the system remains operational. This is not the case with centrifugal or jet pumps.
Additionally, these pumps have an efficiency of approximately 80%, making electricity consumption very low. It is the most environmentally friendly solution. All of this makes the lifecycle cost by far the most advantageous.
A hydrophore unit consists of:
- Double-acting piston pump with motor
- A reservoir, hot-dip galvanized
- Equipped with a pressure switch and manometer
- The air cushion in the reservoir ensures that the pump does not always start with minor water withrawals. Moreover, the water is aerated, preventing anaerobic reactions from occurring.

This allows us to assemble hydrophore units with a flow rate between 1500 l/h and 7500 l/h in combination with a reservoir between 100 and 1000 liters. There is a relationship between the pump flow rate and the reservoir capacity.
